FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method comprises contacting (co)polymer with organic peroxide under conditions when at least some of organic peroxide decompose. Method is different from prior art in that at least 20% of total content of active oxygen of organic peroxide are typical of one or more peroxides of cyclic ketone. As to second aspect of invention, it is concerned with applying composition of organic peroxide where 20% of total content of active oxygen promote one or more peroxides of cyclic ketone for modification of (co)polymers. These peroxides of cyclic ketone were found to be exceedingly effective in methods of modification of copolymer. EFFECT: more efficient modification method. 11 cl, 77 ex, 10 tbl
