FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to devices and contraptions used in handling reinforcement in concreting building structures and other objects. Device has holder with holes having tapered widenings for strands of reinforcement. Seated in holes are tapered inserts. Each tapered insert is made up of at least two or three symmetrically located parts with serrated working surface of hardness ranging up to Rockwell 65. Symmetrically located parts have common circular groove in which circular resilient member is seated. Symmetrically located parts are installed with clearance between adjacent surfaces equal to not less than 0.01 of diameter of tapered insert. At end side, inserts are pressed by cover with holes intended for passing of 1 or 4 or 7 or 12 or 19 or 25 or 31 or 37 or 43 or 55 strands of reinforcement and with symmetrically located clamping bolts. Each hole in holder at side which is opposite to tapered insert has tapered bore. Smaller base of bore is connected with base of aforesaid tapered widening through cylindrical passage. Diameter of cylindrical passage exceeds diameter of reinforcement strand by 12.1-2.5 times. Application of aforesaid embodiment of device enhances reliability of its performance together with widening its functional potentialities. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
