FIELD: mechanical engineering; hydrostatic transmissions. SUBSTANCE: proposed transmission can be used in different machines instead of mechanical or hydromechanical gearboxes. Controlled hydrostatic transmission has kinematic chain formed by combining two rotary positive displacement machines through hydraulic and mechanical circuits. It has driving member being beginning of kinematic chain, driven member being end of kinematic chain, and support member coupled with housing through support tie. Support member is installed for rotation relative to housing and it has special device to break support tie. Hydrostatic transmission has device to interlock rotation of inlet and outlet members relative to each other. EFFECT: reduced friction losses and wear of members of transmission. 2 cl, 1 dwg
