FIELD: analysis of gas emissions of industry producing organic pigments, ethers, synthesizing nitroalcohol. SUBSTANCE: determination of nitromethane in gas mixture of nitrohydrocarbons includes detection of it by piezoelectric quartz sensor modified with active sorbent in advance. Triethanolamine in the amount of 8.0-16.0 microgram is used in the capacity of active sorbent ( modifier ) with flow rate of carrier gas ( air ) 25.0-75.0 cu. cm/min and with content of 20-90 per cent by volume of nitromethane in mixture of aromatic nitrohydrocarbons. EFFECT: selective detection of nitromethane in presence of aromatic hydrocarbons, increased sensitivity of analysis. 3 tbl
