DEVICE FOR LENGTH CUTTING OF LOGS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: construction of houses and structures in country-side, country-cottage co-operatives, in expeditions, etc, where round timber is used for individual or small-scale construction as the main building material. SUBSTANCE: device is furnished with a support provided with portal-like posts, and the carriage - with guides transverse relative to the direction of its movement. The support for alignment of the saw chain with the preset place of log cutting is installed on the guides for movement by angle-pieces-skids. Two horizontal beams of the framework are made in the form pipes extended in cantilever and connected to the saw member by means of holders. The vertical beams of the framework are made of different length, have journals for installation in bearings on the portal-like posts of the support. A gasoline engine is installed in the middle part of the framework vertical beams of the larger length and connected to the saw chain by means of a Gall's chain, driven sprocket, transmission shaft and drive sprocket. The device guides are attached to sleepers for formation of a metal road. EFFECT: mechanized process of length cutting of logs in remote, difficult-to-get-at, non-electrified places without manual labour in this process. 6 cl, 4 dwg
