FIELD: wood-sawing equipment, in particular, chain saws. SUBSTANCE: device has a truck, whose wheels are installed on metal guides placed in parallel with the log to be sawn. The truck carries a carriage with a self-movement mechanism and a swinging system in the form of a rigid framework. The framework is provided with a gasoline engine, reduction gear, sawing apparatus in the form of a bar and saw chain, and components for transmission of motion to these units, the sawing apparatus bar thickness equals 3.5 mm, and the saw chain thickness - 4.5 m. EFFECT: reduced power consumption, reduced time for fulfillment of one and the same operation, reduced wear of equipment, and prevented useless conversion of part of the wood to sawdust. 4 cl, 5 dwg
