Abstract RU 2143567 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering; prestarting oil heating in engine crankcase at below zero temperatures. SUBSTANCE: in device heating element is made in form of flexible heating cable connected through flexible coupler with connecting cable which, in its turn, is connected through unit to device for connection to supply mains. Diameter dc of connecting unit and diameter dn of heating element satisfy the following condition 1,2≥dc/dn≥1,0. Heating cable has metallic heating and current-carrying cores separated by insulating high temperature layer. One of cable cores is made in form of braiding. Sheath of cable is oil, gasoline and temperature-resistant. Coupler and cable termination are made of material whose chemical composition and structure are similar to those of material used for manufacture of cable sheath. Connecting cable has oil and gasoline resistant sheath. Connecting unit is made of shrinking material. EFFECT: increased efficiency of oil heating owing to reduction of time taken for heating cut down power consumption at provision of reliability and long service life. 4 cl, 2 dwg
