FIELD: determination of wear resistance of cylinders of automobile internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: method investigating effect of process of hydraulic shot-blasting on wear resistance of cylinders in the course of full-scale test includes machining of engine cylinders, taking measurements and determination of degree of wear. Cylinders are machined in correspondence with two different technologies of shot-blasting and cylinders machined in agreement with one technology are installed in turn with cylinders machined in accordance with other technology during assembly of engine. Measurements are taken with the use of inside caliper NI-BC-100 m OOO PC-NI-BC-450 m OOO PC and degree of wear of cylinders is determined. Measurement results are entered in certificate or measurement chart of dimensions of cylinders. Then comparative analysis of state of cylinders machined by one technology in relation to cylinders machined by other technology is conducted.
