FIELD: mechanical engineering; full-scale tests of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method of studying influence of process of machining of crankshaft journals and connecting rod pins onto wear resistance in process of fuel-scale tests of engine, including machining of journals, checking of sizes and determining degree of wear, comes to machining of pins of connecting rods and checking their sizes by measurements and determining degree of wear. Journals of crankshaft and pins of connecting rods are subjected to machining according to two different processes, i.e. grinding and shot-blasting, and then connecting rods with shells are installed on journals machined following one process alternately with journals machined following other process, when assembling the engine. EFFECT: improved efficiency of determination of wear resistance of crankshaft journals. 4 cl
