METHOD OF TREATMENT OF BRAIN MALIGNANT TUMORS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, particularly, oncology; applicable in postoperative period in multimodality therapy of brain malignant tumors. SUBSTANCE: method includes course of chemotherapy with preparations of nitrosurea and radiotherapy, and administration of blockader of calcium receptors 3-7 days before chemoradiation therapy and during the entire course of therapy. Calcium antagonist is administered in the form of nifelate by 20-30 mg three times a day. The method allows increase of nonrecurrence period of life of patient with brain tumor, causes no side negative reactions of cardiovascular system and gastroenteric tract, no brain edema; and results in no sharp aggravation of blood quotient.
