SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysts for deep oxidation of hydrocarbons (afterburning of release gases), partial oxidation of hydrocarbons (ethylene and propylene epoxidation), alkylation of hydrocarbons, sulfur dioxide oxidation (in sulfuric acid production), hydrogenation (of acetylene or nitrobenzene), ammonia conversion (in nitric acid and hydrocyanic acid production), etc. Catalyst carrier including silicon oxide and/or aluminum oxide contains sites activating overlaid substances which are characterized by hydroxyl group absorption bands in IR spectra with wave number 3620-3650 cm-1 and half- width 65-75 cm-1.
