FIELD: methods of spraying fluid media. SUBSTANCE: method includes presence of certain amount of fluid medium between first and second surfaces located at some distance relative to each other. These surfaces are moved relative to each other till first surface gets in contact with second one over its entire length at such rate that fluid medium between two surfaces is forced outside over periphery at rate sufficient for spraying fluid medium. Both surfaces have shape complementing each other. Fluid medium is fed through outlet hole which is open towards one of surfaces and is preferably located in its center. Both surfaces are moved in turn to position at which they located at some distance relative to each other and to position when are in contact with each other. Device used for realization of this method has first hold-down unit with first hold-down surface and second hold-down unit with second hold-down surface. Surfaces of hold-down units are directed towards each other. Device includes drive for alternating motion of one of hold-down units which is communicated with fluid medium source and metering unit through fluid medium supply passage. Device may be also provided with immovable and movable hold-down units. The drive is just electromagnetic drive including movable magnetic or conducting core for exerting action on movable hold-down unit and immovable winding surrounding the core at circular clearance between them. Winding is energized from power supply source in intermittent mode of supply. Core is immovably secured to movable hold-down unit whose one surface made from flexible material is slightly concave for forming projecting circumferential edge. Hold-down units are connected with stops for minimum space between their surfaces. EFFECT: possibility of work with minimum amount of fluid medium and possibility of obtaining aerosol of fluid medium at drops having size of about 10 mcm and lesser. 11 cl, 5 dwg
