FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing rigid polyurethane foam for preparation of polyurethane foams flexible by reacting compound reactive to isocyanate and water. Compound is compound (2) reactive to isacyanate having mean equivalent weight of not greater than 374 and mean number of hydrogen atoms of 2 to 8, compound (3) reactive to isocyanate having mean equivalent weight of greater than 374 and mean number of hydrogen atoms of 2 to 6, and water. Amount of compound (2), compound (3) and water (per 100 wt parts of polyisocyanate, compound (2) and water) constitutes 2-20 wt parts, 5-35 wt parts and 1-17 wt parts, respectively, provided that compound (3) is not polyoxyalkylene polyol having functionality of 2-3.5, hydroxyl number of 28-90 mg KOH/g and containing not higher than 5 wt % of polyoxyethylene units.
