SEALING DEVICE FOR OIL-WELL SUCKER-ROD PUMP DRIVE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: oil industry; provision of pump sealing in operation of oil wells. SUBSTANCE: device has housing, and cylinder with holes in lower part in which stepped rod is installed. This arrangement is secured on face plate of oil well equipment. With sucker rod pump drive reciprocating, liquid through holes in cylinder is delivered into oil collecting system through ring space between walls of housing and cylinder and holes in face plate. This liquid cools friction pair: rod - cylinder. In case of breaking of sucker - rod string, rod overlaps holes in cylinder, thus sealing the well. Device is arranged on tubes at designed depth in well to preclude wear of seals. It does not require servicing. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of installation. 2 cl, 1 dwg
