FIELD: gas transportation. SUBSTANCE: glass reinforced plastic high-pressure cylinder includes outer power shell made of composite material and inner gas-tight shell made of gas impenetrable material. It also has two metal flanges similar in design and mounted on opposite poles of cylinder. One of them has hole. Inner gas-tight shell is fabricated from thin-walled lower layer and upper layer of composite material. Lower layer of gas-tight shell is manufactured from layers of aluminum foil covering cylindrical part of cylinder and end caps produced from thin-sheet aluminum lapped over foil which are bottoms of cylinder. In correspondence with process first lower layer of inner shell of glass reinforced plastic is formed by application of layers of foil on shell body over which end caps are lapped and linked with the use of adhesive. Then glass tape saturated with polymer binder is applied to form inner gas-tight shell. After hardening of binder shell is cut perpendicular to longitudinal axis into two equal halves in which bottoms holes are calibrated for installation of flanges. All parts are bonded with adhesive. Later glass tape is wound again to form outer power shell with usage of inner shell as mandrel. EFFECT: increased manufacturability. 5 cl, 3 dwg
