FIELD: sanitary engineering; dwellings and vehicles. SUBSTANCE: proposed method of elimination of smell from lavatory bowl comes to forming electric field nonuniform in space and constant in time in upper space of bowl below plane connecting upper surface of bowl when using the bowl. This field entraps and settles particles carrying the smell. Device has fastening screw clamps 4 with shock absorbing gaskets and electrodes 1 with sharp points to suit inner surface of bowl upper space. Electrodes are connected to positive and negative terminals of DC source of high voltage and weak current design. Electrodes are made for changing and fixing the shape in at least one plane, their insulation being made of flexible material. Current source is connected to automatic switch with sensor detecting pressure on lavatory bowl at beginning and end of use. Screw clamps, electrodes, terminals and wires for connecting the electrodes are sealed by electric insulating materials. EFFECT: improved efficiency of air cleaning. 6 cl, 2 dwg
