FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of recovering oxidized sulfurous compounds, more particularly sulfoxides from mixture thereof with hydrocarbons and sulfurous compounds. Described is method of recovering sulfoxides and sulfones from mixture with hydrocarbons and sulfurous compounds by treatment of mixture with extracting agent comprising water and glycol ether. Glycol ether includes propylene glycol alkyl ethers with molecular weight of 90-150, ratios of components being as follows, vol %: propylene glycol alkyl ethers 40-60; and the water balance.
