FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: method is characterized by application of additional material to wheel flange surface which excludes contact of flange metal with rail metal. This is attained by formation of layers, each layer 5-7 mcm thick, of coating with reflection of roughness specially prepared or produced in process of turning of flange surface.
