FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in lubricating contact surfaces of rolling stock wheels and rails. The lubricant is applied by means of nozzles on top of rails and wheel rolling surface of the last locomotive wheel pair along the course of travel in modes different for straight and curved track sections. When moving along straight track sections, the lubricant is applied to the top of the rails and the rolling surfaces of both wheels of the locomotive wheel pair which is the last in the course of travel. When moving in curved track sections, the lubricant is applied only to the top of the rails and the rolling surface of a wheel moving along the inner rail the last in the course of travel of the locomotive wheel pair.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of the rail and rail top lubrication system, reduced wear of the wheel pairs and rails.
