FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: method for wear rate lowering in "wheel-rail" system of railway vehicle consists in feeding chemical agent to rail side surface and/or wheel flange by means of controlled mechanical devices. In this system, controlled mechanical devices are installed on locomotive, in cars, on switch assemblies and in bends. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is used as chemical agent. The gas is fed on movable devices, during braking-acceleration - on locomotives, during braking - on cars, during railway train passing switch assemblies and bends. In this process, gas feeding while passing switch assemblies and bends is performed at rate not exceeding 2-4 L/min per controlled mechanical device for feeding chemical agent, and during braking and acceleration - not less than 6-8 L/min per controlled mechanical device for feeding chemical agent installed on locomotive. Agent flow is set by gas manometric pressure at output from controlled device nozzle.
EFFECT: lower wear rate of wheels and rails in bends and on switch assemblies, reduced formation of slides and deposits on wheels during braking and acceleration of locomotives.
