FIELD: drives of sucker-rod pumping units in gas and oil producing industry. SUBSTANCE: slips are connected with housing by means of flexible system; contact surfaces of slips and backings are provided with central longitudinal straight-way slot whose width on inner contact surface of slips corresponds to width of backing; changeable backings are secured against axial displacement relative to slips and drive pulley. Application of flexible system in drive of slips provides for constant negative allowance in joint in case of permanent set in engageable parts, vibrations, pulsation of loads, etc which are likely to occur in the course of operation.
