FIELD: geophysics. SUBSTANCE: a seismic section or cube is formed. The relation between the spectral thickness of the low-frequency part of the spectrum and the full spectral thickness of the prospected horizons is calculated. Sections of instantaneous frequencies and/or instantaneous amplitudes and/or instantaneous phases are constructed by means of mathematical processing. The obtained sections are analyzed. The results of the analysis are compared with the characteristics of the known fields, and the service properties of the field are judged by them.
