FIELD: electronic musical instruments. SUBSTANCE: method is based on performing accords using their preliminary translation into accords with similar sound but with different musical characteristics. Said method involves production of source tight accord as a list of at least three notes, production of target wider accord of equal of greater number of notes as in source accord and outputting target accord. With respect to source accord, method involves detection of note with maximal pitch to be included into target accord without alteration, arranging of source accord with respect to its interval content and detection of subset of notes in source accord, which is included into note list of target accord without alteration, detection of another subset of notes of source accord, which are translated into another octave and are output to note list of target accord. Translation of each note of chosen subset of source accord into another octave conforms to condition that pitch of translated notes is less than pitch of maximal pitch note of source accord. In addition method involves detection of harmonic tone of source accord and translation of each note of chosen subset of notes to be translated into another octave. This operation conforms to condition that one of two lowest pitch notes of target accord matches with harmonic tone of source accord up to octave. In addition method involves detection of alternate bass of source accord and translation of each note of source accord into another octave. This operation conforms to condition that one of two lowest pitch notes of target accord matches with alternate bass of source accord up to octave. Name of target accord contains its type and harmonic tone and its highest note. EFFECT: possibility to take tight piano accords and to produce wider guitar type accords with multiple parts, while highest note of accord is kept constant. 4 cl, 2 dwg, 3 ex
