FIELD: organic chemistry, agriculture. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of 2,5-dichloro-3N-imidazolyl-4,4-dimethoxy-5-allyl-2- -cyclopentenone-1 as inhibitor of tobacco mosaic virus. Proposed 2,5-dichloro-3N-imidazolyl-4,4-dimethoxy-5-allyl-2- -cyclopentenone-1 as inhibitor shows high effectiveness and at low concentration (10-9-10-10 M) provides decrease of ineffectiveness degree of tobacco leaves with tobacco mosaic virus by 55%. Compound shows low toxicity (value LD50 is 225 mg/kg), it does not cause irritation and allergy on skin and harmless for humans and animals in treatment of agriculture plants.
