FIELD: machining of precious stones, jeweler's art. SUBSTANCE: invention may find use in some branches of technology. In correspondence with process diamonds are subjected to action of electron beams and annealing. Annealing is performed either under atmospheric pressure or in atmosphere of inert gas or vacuum. Heating temperature varies depending on heating conditions from 300 up to 1900 C. Diamonds are heated in the course of 30 min and up to several hours. After treatment with electron beams annealing is repeated many times to obtain required hue. EFFECT: production of red- yellow and black diamonds. 4 cl
