SHEAR HEAD SCREW AND TOOL FOR DRIVING SUCH SCREWS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; shear head screws and tools for driving such screws. SUBSTANCE: screw 10 has first polyhedral head 12, section of cylindrical bearing surface 20 whose diameter is at least equal to diameter of breakable neck but is lesser than diameter of second head, breakable neck 14, second polyhedral head 16 and threaded rod 18. Tool for driving such screw includes drive unit and tightening end section 32 containing tube 34 whose diameter provides for receiving at least first head of screw. Front end 34a is open in outside direction (relative to end section) and is provided with engagement section 36 for gripping the first head of screw. Flexible members located between front end 34a and engagement section 36 of tube are used for contact with section of cylindrical bearing surface 20 of screw and for introducing of first head of screw into tube engagement section. Storage chamber 40 connected with engagement section 36 is provided with unit for opening and closing the chamber; chamber may receive at least one separated first head of screw.
