FIELD: different branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: method is used for measuring of liquid and gas flow rate. Method consists in radiation of two ultrasonic waves of different frequency by reversible acoustic transducers along and opposite the flow, simultaneously and in opposition to each other. Method also includes conversion of waves received by acoustic transducers to electric signals and separation of envelope of summary electric signal. Peculiarity of the method consists in that ultrasonic waves are radiated by reversible acoustic transducers at frequencies of mechanical resonance, at relative detuning of frequencies ξ, which is determined by mathematic expression given in the invention description. Envelope of summary electric signal is separated on one of transducers. Voltage amplitude of electric signal envelope across this transducer is maintained constant by changing excitation voltage of other transducer. Value of medium flow rate being measured is judged by excitation voltage variation. EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity of measurements. 1 dwg
