METHOD TO CONTROL THERMAL TREATMENT PROCESS IN PELLETIZING INSTALLATION Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: industrial processing of ore starting materials. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention lies in increased quality of pellets which is achieved thanks to passage of flow of material with specified thickness of layer through gear for thermal treatment of pellets that is part of pelletizing installation. Mathematical model employed to calculate distribution of temperature T in layer of pellets and based on variables of process critical for heating of pellets is used to control thermal treatment. Calculated distribution of temperature T is compared with optimum distribution of temperature T* determined on the basis of qualitative requirements for pellets after thermal treatment. Specified values for controllers that control actuating elements acting on process are computed with the aid of optimization algorithm depending on deviation between calculated distribution of temperature T and optimum distribution of temperature T*.
