FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, designs of apparatuses for heating of air blast of blast furnaces. SUBSTANCE: air heater has jacket with lining, packing, dome with prechamber located in its upper part and is coaxially to it. Prechamber has jacket and lining with independent rest on jacket. Pipe union of hot blast is located above packing at distance of at least one diameter of its flow section. Channels for passage of gas and air are made in side vertical wall of prechamber lining and communicate with internal headers and pipe unions for supply of gas and air. Axes of upper channels are directed from lower header to axis of prechamber and displaced upward from horizontal plane through angle up to 30 deg. Axes of the other channels are located in horizontal plate at angle of 15-30 deg to radii running through centers of their outlet holes. EFFECT: increased overhaul period of design and reduced maintenance costs. 4 dwg
