FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to design of shaftless regenerative-type air heaters for blast furnaces. Air heater comprises cylindrical casing with refractory lining and heat exchange nozzle, hot air nozzle, cylindrical section in neck smoothly converging to top of canopy, above which the burner assembly prechamber with the combustion and combustion air supply nozzles is coaxially located, wherein the prechamber of the burner assembly of the air heater is equipped with at least one burner-stabilizer of gas combustion, and outlets of gas supply and combustion air supply to prechamber are made tangential and are located at least on two opposite sides from prechamber.
EFFECT: stabilized ignition of gas and its combustion and stability and safety of operation of air heater.
