FIELD: production of purely linen yarn for manufacture of fabric for jackets and articles used in medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves combing thin layer of linen fibers with flexibility less than or equal to 45 mm, with weight of each grasped linen filament mass being within the range of 90-100 g; forming ribbon; straightening ribbon by directing it through four passes of ribbon forming machine; forming roving; refining it without using chlorine-containing oxidants; spinning to form yarn with linear density of 33.5-38 tex and twisting coefficient of 1.15-1.20. EFFECT: wider range of fabrics produced by method, increased spinning capacity of linen for producing purely linen ecologically safe yarn, and reduced production cost. 2 cl, 1 tbl
