FIELD: versatile catalysts. SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing textile catalyst wherein cloth based on inert carrier of monothreads and complex polyacrylonitrile threads is treated first with hot alkaline solution of hydrazine hydrochloride and then with aqueous solution of variable- valence metal salt is distinguished by that, to solution containing 5-9 g/l of hydrazine hydrochloride, added are: 7-14 g/l of hydroxylamine hydrochloride, sodium carbonate in amount required for full neutralization of the first two components, sodium hydroxide to give pH 9-11, and 10-20 g/l of sodium nitrite. Such solution is used for treating cloth in amount 40-50 kg/kg for 1.6-2.0 hr at 101-105 C. Cloth is additionally treated for 0.5 to 15 min with solution containing 50-100 g/l sodium hydroxide at 101-105 C and finely with variable-valence metal salt solution for 24 to 35 hr. Textile catalyst can be, in particular, used for treating waste waters and gas emissions to remove sulfides and organic impurities. EFFECT: increased lifetime of catalyst, increased catalytic activity, and extended catalyst application area. 2 tbl, 33 ex
