FIELD: mining, particularly, well drilling equipment used in sidetracking. SUBSTANCE: deflector is eccentric and includes body with two wedge surfaces. Attached by means of shear members to body upper part presenting a trough is transportation branch pipe and adjusting wedge is also attached to bod lower part by means of shear members. In case of necessity to impart the required direction of trough, float or ballast may be additionally installed in hollows of deflector separate members. Transportation branch pipe and adjusting wedge may also present float or ballast depending on operating conditions. In free fall deflector is automatically oriented to preset azimuth. EFFECT: provision of automatic orientation of deflector to required azimuth with simplified design of deflector. 3 dwg
