DEVICE FOR POSITIONING WEDGE-DEFLECTOR AND PROCEDURE FOR POSITIONING WEDGE-DEFLECTOR IN WELL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC E21B7/08 

FIELD: oil and gas production.

SUBSTANCE: device consists of landing and guiding units. The landing unit has a set-off gravity centre made with inclined surface and a hydraulic anchor, also, it is connected with the shaft of the guiding unit via a spindle rotating relative to the wedge-deflector and rigidly tied with a drill column on one side and with the shaft of the guiding unit on another side. The guiding unit has response surfaces for interaction with inclined surface of the landing unit, it also consists of devices for change of positional relationship of response surfaces and the shaft at a specified angle. The procedure consists in setting a specified angle of the wedge-deflector positioning relative to the landing device, in lowering the assembly into a well, in hydraulic fixing the landing device oriented under gravity force, and in fixing the guiding device with the wedge deflector relative to the landing device.

EFFECT: reduced expenditures at wedge-deflector positioning and simplified process of mechanisms orientation.
