FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: device consists of landing and guiding units. The landing unit is equipped with a hydraulic anchor and guiding surface for interaction with response surfaces of the guiding unit. The guiding unit has a set off centre of gravity and is connected to a string via a spindle facilitating its rotation relative to the string. The units can be split, also, the guiding unit includes devices for change of geometric relationship of response surfaces on its shaft and connected with it shaft with set off centre of gravity in a specified direction; successively, this shaft and spindle are disconnected and the wedge-deflector is positioned in their place. The procedure consists in orienting the landing unit by means of the guiding device and in its following disconnection and lifting to surface. Further, the shaft with set off centre of gravity is directed relative to the response surface of the guiding unit where the wedge-deflector is to be installed; the guiding unit is lowered and fixed on the landing unit.
EFFECT: reduced expenditures at installation of wedge-deflector, simplified process of mechanisms positioning due to reduced amount of round-trips; reduced metal input for device of positioning.
