FIELD: oil producing industry; applicable in construction and operation of producing horizontal wells at oil deposits with bottom water. SUBSTANCE: method provides for location of horizontal channel in oil-saturated part of formation in the same vertical plane with horizontal channel in water-saturated part of formation at a distance from water-oil contact determined depending on distance between channels, viscosity value of fluid withdrawn from formation and geometric parameters of well profile. The method ensures prolonged operation of wells under normal process conditions by regulation or preservation of natural level of water-oil contact of oil pools, retarded rate of pressure drop in pool and reduced water production rate without provision of water impermeable screen in water-saturated part of formation.
