FIELD: forestry, in particular, intensive forest restoration performed by means of manual tools for planting large forest crop seedlings. SUBSTANCE: sword blade has radial cross section and maximum width ratio of 0.8-1.3. Lower end of sword blade is made trapezium-shaped, with small and large end ratio being equal to 1/5-1/9. Ratio of small end and height of trapezium is equal to or less than 1/5. End of sword blade is offset relative to axis of shank. Planting sword of such construction allows force of penetration of sword blade into ground to be reduced. EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency. 4 dwg
