DEVICE FOR CLEANING EXTERNAL SURFACE OF PIPE LINE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning external surfaces of cylindrical articles in various industries. SUBSTANCE: device includes drive frame made in form of iurcular detachable carriage on wheel support with cleaning members secured over circumference of carriage. Wheel is mounted on drive shaft for motion around pipe line, along its axis and spirally. Axis of drive shaft is perpendicular to axis of pipe and axis of wheel is perpendicular to axis of drive shaft for turn through angle of from 0 to 360 deg relative to axis of pipe line. Drive shaft is provided with unit for control of angle of wheel relative to axis of pipe line; it is made in form of motor-reduction gear and drive chain. Cleaning members are made in form of cylindrical brushes articulated on circular carriage for rotation around its axis in spring-loaded single-arm levers at shifts relative to each other not exceeding 90 deg; their width is equal to 1/Д, where Д is diameter of pipe line.
