FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at repairs and reconditioning of vehicles. Proposed device contains wheelset rotation mechanism including rotary drive, cleaning metal brushes and mechanism to feed wheelset into cleaning zone and wheelset rotation stop mechanism. Wheelset feed mechanism contains movable cradles for orientation of wheelsets and installed on upper outer side of housing frame, supports for locating of wheelsets by means of wheel axle boxes, support beam moving along and engaging with axle of wheelset, and drive designed for lifting wheel support beam together with wheelset. Cleaning tools are intercoupled with mechanism for active cleaning of wheelset and mechanism for passive cleaning of side surfaces of wheel disks. Active cleaning mechanism consists of drive and cleaning tools rotary units made in form of cylindrical brushes and units providing reciprocation of brushes along wheelset axle. Passive cleaning mechanisms for cleaning side surfaces of disks of each wheel are installed for adjusting their position relative to side surfaces of disk of each wheel and they consist of shaped brushes, their travel drives to provide engagement of brushes with side surfaces of wheel disks and release of brushes, and units to provide rocking of brushes to shake off contaminants. Rotary mechanism drive is coupled with drive members engaging with wheels and imparting to them rotation around axle. Wheelset rotary mechanism stop consists of drives designed for feeding and releasing of brake shoes engaging with wheels.
