END FACE SEAL Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: chemical, oil producing and other industries; sealing devices for rotating shafts of pumps, machines and apparatuses. SUBSTANCE: end face of stationary ring has ring projection which gets into ring groove of rotating ring. Delivery blades are made on end face surface of projection with pitch P_t. Sealed medium getting into ring groove is returned into sealed space along longitudinal channels and radial spaces under action of delivery blades building additional pressure. All this provides decrease in sealed medium leaks outside through end face seal. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of end face seal. 4 dwg
