FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle suspension hinge joints; protection of assembled units from contamination and damage in storage and transportation. SUBSTANCE: most important members of joint, such as threaded and conical parts of fin, dust trap and inner spaces of unit are covered by protective sheathing made of shrinkable film. Multiple-layer sheathing is used in dust trap area. Label with test or and/or graphic mark is found under sheathing in dust trap area. Method of application of protective sheathing comes to the following: protective cap is fitted on joint dust trap to be subjected to application of protective sheathing and then coating is applied to part of hinge joint housing. Coating is ended in zone coupling flange. EFFECT: possibility of removing protective sheathing without destruction of sheathing. 9 cl, 6 dwg
