FIELD: communication equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves recognition of traffic elements, such as call attempts which are bound to features of each call, and routing calls using choice of corresponding alternative between several possible traffic control alternatives (R1-R3, A8). Each alternative to be chosen is bound with set of features which are compared to respective call features, when said alternative is tested with respect to said traffic element. Increased flexibility of routing is achieved by set of choice strategies and order for their use. Each choice strategy defines at least possible alternatives and order in which alternatives are chosen for testing. Compliance of alternatives is tested in order defined by choice strategy. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities, decreased costs. 14 cl, 24 dwg
