FIELD: electrochemical treatment of metals and alloys, possibly in machine- and instrument making, for example at lapping inner and outer surfaces. SUBSTANCE: electrochemical polishing is carried out in neutral water solution of salts at electric current density equal to 0.2-10 A/cm2. Temperature of electrolyte is equal to temperature of environment. Treated part is subjected to vibration. Amplitude and frequency of vibration is set according to electrochemical properties of material of said part. Time period for one polishing cycle is determined by formula τ = l/v =l/v, where l - minimum distance from bath bottom until polished surface of part; v - floating up speed of hydrogen bubbles determined by Stokes law. EFFECT: nontoxicity and low cost of used electrolyte, its simplified preparation, possibility of using it without heating, elimination of controlling modes of electrochemical polishing and cleaning, possibility of simultaneous treatment of several parts and lapping for short time period. 1 dwg, 1 ex
