FIELD: electrochemical treatment processes, possibly in machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: tool cathode includes body supporting shaping portion with ducts for supplying and removing electrolyte. Shaping portion is arranged on dielectric gasket along end of body. Working surface of shaping portion is in the form of alternatively arranged current conductive and non-conductive sectors. The last are covered by abrasive wear-resistant insulation material. Surface of shaping portion turned to body is protected from anode solution by means of non-soluble current conductive graphite-based coat. Such structure of tool cathode allows to enhance accuracy of treatment up to 0.025-0.05 mm, to lower surface roughness by 2-3 classes, to increase service life period of tool by 1.5-2 times in comparison with known tools.
