FIELD: cold working of metals and alloys by surface plastic deformation. SUBSTANCE: device has holder with separator secured to it and deforming members positioned in guide bushings. Device is installed on platform connected rigidly to roller arranged in front of working tool. Roller is set to required overhang relative to working tool and thrown into contact with surface to be worked. In process of working roller performs rolling-out motion. If part being worked has some defects of form, roller reacts to this defect and shifts platform to required value preserving constant value of interference.
