FIELD: cold working of metals and alloys by surface plastic deformation. SUBSTANCE: device has deforming member secured on one end of rocker arm and eccentric friction wheel rotating easily on other end of rocker arm. Rocker arm deforming member is hinge-connected to tie-rod which is in permanent contact with cam through roller. Cam is positioned on one shaft with friction wheel. In the process of working friction wheel is pressed to lathe chuck, and rotary motion imparted to friction wheel is converted to oscillatory movement of deforming member which forms surface microrelief. Due to inclusion of tool in single kinematic chain of lathe, the device enables setting-up of kinematic coupling between working condition parameters and microrelief parameters.
