FIELD: material working, namely strengthening-finishing surfaces of parts by surface plastic deforming in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing, step drive, control unit in the form of signal setter and deforming roller. Step drive is joined with slide mounted with possibility of reciprocation motion. Fork of apparatus is mounted on slide with possibility of rotation and it is designed for mounting deforming roller. Gear transmission with rack is mounted with possibility of lengthwise motion between two springs. Fork is kinematically joined with rack of gear transmission; springs are mounted with possibility of regulating their effort. Such apparatus allows to form regular microrelief with variable amplitude and variable pitch and to vary said parameters at working part. EFFECT: enhanced fatigue strength, increased resistance against surface attrition, significantly improved working quality. 1 dwg
