FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: compensator that functions to compensate for passive components of instant power (correction of distortion and reactive power) occurring due to nonlinear, distorting, and reactive loads is built around single-phase voltage inverter circuit in the form of transistor and diode bridges connected through ac terminals to supply mains in parallel with load being corrected and incorporates energy storage in DC circuits. The latter has a number of storage batteries; DC terminals of transistor and diode bridges are isolated so that during battery charge intervals they are connected in parallel with DC leads of diode bridge and during discharge periods these batteries are cumulatively connected in series with DC terminals of transistor bridge so as to ensure total voltage across storage cells higher than supply voltage level. Compensator can be used both for individual and group correction of reactive and distorting loads. EFFECT: enlarged reactive-power regulation range. 3 dwg
