FIELD: converter engineering. SUBSTANCE: direct frequency converter using push-pull circuit arrangement with ac supply voltage neutral brought out has two separately controlled switch-type current shapers each made in the form of bridge-type single-phase voltage inverter built around four transistor switches shorted out by backward diodes, its DC leads being connected to polar storage capacitor plates and ac leads are used to connect mains power supply to common load circuit through matching choke coil. Its control is effected on closed-loop control principle based on comparison of current setting signal with feedback signal by high-frequency on-off operation of respective pair of transistor switches which is accompanied by bidirectional energy exchange between storage capacitor and choke coil and by generation of load-circuit current of desired waveform.
