METHOD FOR SUPPRESSING WAVES IN COASTAL ZONE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2147060 C1

FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: this method is intended for application with purpose of reducing effect of action of waves on structural and other objects located in coastal zone during storms and seismic sea waves. According to method, secured in bottom ground are members which subject water medium to forced influence. These members are arranged below troughs of statistic waves. Aforesaid members are made in the form of flexible shells which are filled with deformable substance for example with gas. Flexible shells are filled with such volume of gas which permits each flexible member to deform when crest of wave is passing above it. Members in the form of flexible shells are positioned randomly and they are interconnected to each other by gas delivery lines. Aforesaid method allows for more efficient forced influence on water medium to suppress high waves. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
